Bringing your own birds?
You are welcome to bring companion parrot(s) to the show with you. However, we have a number of rules in place to keep both people and birds safe. Please note that poultry and waterfowl are not permitted at the show.
THERE WILL BE NO BUYING OR SELLING OF ANY BIRDS AT THE SHOW
Before the show:
- Health check your bird and do not travel with them if there are any signs of disease
- You must not travel with a bird from within any of the Avian Influenza Control, Protection, Captive Bird Monitoring or Prevention Zones - check the APHA Avian Influenza Map before you travel.
- Clean and disinfect any carriers or travel cages before use
At the show:
- All birds should be secured on a harness or within a travel cage -no free flying permitted
- Follow all bio-security arrangements
- Provide your contact details and complete the signed declaration form
- Make sure you have sufficient food and water for your birds with you on the day
- Have somewhere suitable for your bird to rest
After the show:
- APHA recommend that you quarrantine your bird away from any others for 1 week after you return home
- Monitor your birds for any signs of disease
